Brett Favre sets Packers record for most consecutive completions

Week 12: On Thanksgiving day Brett Favre had 20 straight completions breaking the Packers record of 18 consecutive completions. Brett Favre also added to his records for most Consecutive Starts by an NFL Quarterback including playoffs with 249, and most career touchdown passes with 435. Brett Favre was given the first ever new version of the thanksgiving day Galloping Gobbler football trophy as the Green Bay Packers beat the Detroit Lions 37-26. But I miss John Madden giving out the turkey legs from the 6-legged turkey!

WEEK 9: For the first time in NFL history has there been a game this late in the season against two unbeaten teams - The New England Patriots (8-0) against the Indianapolis Colts (7-0). The Patriots and Colts will face off this week in the first game in NFL history between unbeaten teams with seven or more wins. The 7-0 Colts have won 12 consecutive regular-season and playoff games, while the Patriots have won 11 consecutive regular-season games and 13 of their last 14 overall games.

Antonio Cromartie sets NFL record with 109-yard FG return


WEEK 9: San Diego cornerback Antonio Cromartie returned a missed field goal 109 yards for a touchdown as the first half ended Sunday at Minnesota - the longest play in NFL history. Play Video! But San Diego looses to the Minnesota Vikings 35-17. The previous record for longest play was 108 yards, missed field goal returns, shared by Chicago teammates Devin Hester and Nathan Vasher and a 108 yard kickoff return by New England's Ellis Hobbs.

Adrian Peterson set the NFL record with 296 rushing yards


WEEK 9: Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson set the NFL most rushing yards in a game record with 296 and scored three touchdowns. Video highlights! Baltimore Ravens Jamal Lewis held the previous single-game rushing record, as he rushed for 295 against Cleveland on Sept. 14, 2003. The Vikings also set a club single-game record with 378 rushing yards. Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson rushed 46-yards for a touchdown in the fourth quarter beating the San Diego Chargers 35-17.

WEEK 7: Including the game-winning kick, Tennessee Titans Rob Bironas kicked eight field goals, the most in a single game in NFL history, beating out four players with seven field goals in one game. Bironas' longest kick off the day came from 52 yards out. Kerry Collins drove the Tennessee Titans downfield to set up a 29-yard game-winning field goal by kicker Rob Bironas. Tom Brady will break all records this year

WEEK 7: Tom Brady is the first NFL quarterback to throw at least three TD passes in each of the first seven games of a season. New England Patriots defeat the Miami Dolphins 49-28 and Tom Brady with a career-high six touchdowns, 21of25 passing with no interceptions for 354 yards. Tom Brady leads the league with 27 touchdown passes, putting him in position to challenge Peyton Manning's league record of 49. New England Patriots have scored 34 points or more in each game this season. The Patriots improved to 7-0 for the first time in franchise history, while the Dolphins fell to 0-7 for the first time in their franchise history.

Tony Gonzalez breaks all time td record for a tight end

WEEK 6: Tony Gonzalez of the Kansas City Chiefs breaks the all time NFL td record for a tight end with 63 touchdowns today beating out Shannon Sharpe. Three quarters later Gonzalez caught another making the record 64 in his 20th game with 100 yards or more. Chiefs beat the Cincinnati Bengals 27-20. “Congratulations,” Sharpe said Sunday on CBS. “Now, all you need to do is win a playoff game.”

Michael Strahan beats all time sacks record


Week 4: New York Giants Linebacker Michael Strahan beats Laurence Taylor`s all time Giants sack record with 133.5 sacks. Michael Strahan sacked Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb. Michael Strahan also holds the NFL record for most sacks in a season with 22.5 in 2001.

Giants linebacker Osi Umenyiora ties the single game sack record by sacking McNabb 6 times. McNabb was sacked 12 times total and tied the record for Most Times Sacked in a Game. Giants win 16-3 at home.

Brett Favre sets record for TD passes

Week 4: Brett Favre broke Dan Marino's NFL record for career touchdown passes Sunday with # 421 to Greg Jenningson and the Green Bay Packers win 23-16 over the Minnesota Vikings. Watch Video! Two weeks ago Brett Favre broke John Elway's mark for career victories by a quarterback when he led the Packers to a 35-13 win over the New York Giants. Lions set record for fourth quarter points

Week 4: No other team in NFL history can say they scored 34 points in the final quarter as the Detroit Lions did against the defending NFC champions Chicago Bears, and no other NFL game included a combined 48 points in the fourth quarter. Lions win 37-27

Patriots beat the longest kickoff return yards record

WEEK 1: New England Patriots kick return guy Ellis Hobbs breaks the NFL all time longest kickoff return for 108 yards. New England beats the New York Jets 38-14.

Later that day the Patriots were accused of cheating by filming defensive coach hand signals.
