Michael Strahan beats all time sacks record


Week 4: New York Giants Linebacker Michael Strahan beats Laurence Taylor`s all time Giants sack record with 133.5 sacks. Michael Strahan sacked Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb. Michael Strahan also holds the NFL record for most sacks in a season with 22.5 in 2001.

Giants linebacker Osi Umenyiora ties the single game sack record by sacking McNabb 6 times. McNabb was sacked 12 times total and tied the record for Most Times Sacked in a Game. Giants win 16-3 at home.

Brett Favre sets record for TD passes

Week 4: Brett Favre broke Dan Marino's NFL record for career touchdown passes Sunday with # 421 to Greg Jenningson and the Green Bay Packers win 23-16 over the Minnesota Vikings. Watch Video! Two weeks ago Brett Favre broke John Elway's mark for career victories by a quarterback when he led the Packers to a 35-13 win over the New York Giants. Lions set record for fourth quarter points

Week 4: No other team in NFL history can say they scored 34 points in the final quarter as the Detroit Lions did against the defending NFC champions Chicago Bears, and no other NFL game included a combined 48 points in the fourth quarter. Lions win 37-27

Patriots beat the longest kickoff return yards record

WEEK 1: New England Patriots kick return guy Ellis Hobbs breaks the NFL all time longest kickoff return for 108 yards. New England beats the New York Jets 38-14.

Later that day the Patriots were accused of cheating by filming defensive coach hand signals.
